*Google Plus Brands See 9400% Follower Increase Since 2011*

Amanda Blain February 23, 2013 48

Facebook is continuing to make it harder to allow brands to engage with the audience they spent a lot of time and money developing… while G+ is offering more awesome, free and profitable ways to do so. Brands and People can continue to believe the media negative hype, or they can wake up and start figuring out their strategies here… technology googleplus *Google Plus Brands See 9400% Follower Increase Since 2011* icon smile

" A majority of the top 100 brands- three quarters- have active profiles. As more brands engage users, we expect to see those who are unconvinced to shake off reservations and establish a strong Google+ presence "

Gosh I love this place…  ♥

I love The Plus too but I'm not seeing brands take advantage and engage like they should.

Bigger brands with a huge customer base sure. I'd like to see smaller brands have this kind of success

I agree.. Brands still need to "relearn" how to be social… Its a huge area to improve upon… Some are getting it better than others…  I really like what Once Upon A Time, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead are doing… and a few other TV shows and brands.. but most are still just doing push marketing on mass… :)

+Amanda Blain brands listen to the social media 'experts' unfortunately… And we know how genius they are… Snake oil anyone?

G+ layout is nice but I don't see that much engagement on here at all.

This is really encouraging. I've been trying at +DIA to get the needed G+ buy in and IT support to do it right since Nov. 2011 and have been thwarted at every step along the way. Great post, +Amanda Blain! It is inspiring me not to give up and try again.

+Amanda Blain I really would love to see a story on how brands are giving incentives for people to follow them on Google+, the way they used to on Facebook.

and  how many people is google following back???

  42. John Spade February 24, 2013 at 6:16 pm - Reply

This should really accelerate now that pages can [finally] interact with a person before the person circles the page. It was almost impossible to build an audience for a small business/page with that requirement.

It's laughable when I drive by a dry cleaner with a sign "Like" us on FB

  44. John Spade February 25, 2013 at 2:58 pm - Reply

+Brian Monahan Unfortunately, most  small businesses would still rather have a facebook like than a +. None of your friends will see a +, but there's a chance your friends will see a like. It works because I forgot about a bakery until a friend liked one of their posts. I went the next day. Until a + clearly improves a search ranking or a way for people to discover your business, I'd rather have a like. For large brands it matters less.

interesting the bigger the brand the more marketing budget they have. You cant really convince me that Facebook is a good medium – my likes and traffic jump the shark. Shoot I get more actions elsewhere than on Facebook!
